GLOBAL CHAPLAINS DAY is being observed on the FIRST SATURDAY IN FEBRUARY each year.
It is designated as a time to reflect on the work of Chaplains while honoring them for their selfless service.
Chaplains are found in institutions such as Hospitals, Hospices, Law Enforcement Agencies, Military Units, Fire Agencies, Schools, Prisons, Corporations, The United States Senate, The United States House of Representatives, and in our communities. They play a vital role in supporting, ministering and bringing hope to people in dire situations.
Global Chaplains Alliance, Inc., held its first Global Chaplains Day ceremony in Stone Mountain, Georgia on February 1, 2020 (the first Saturday in February). The ceremony was well attended as can be seen on our events page. We honored chaplains from various agencies including a Boy Scout Chaplains Aide.
In 2020, Chaplain Monica Dennis-Jones, President of Global Chaplains Alliance, Inc., called for the recognition of GLOBAL CHAPLAINS DAY on the first Saturday in February and it was designated as such, at their recognition service held for chaplains on February 1, 2020.
GLOBAL CHAPLAINS DAY is a time to recognize everyone who serve as a Chaplain. Each year, the United States Military has a day of remembrance for four Military chaplains who sacrificed their lives during WWII. The observation of that day does not pay tribute to current Chaplains nor highlight sacrifices made by chaplains who have served and are still serving other institutions.
Today, chaplains continue to provide sacrificial service to the institutions they serve and are so deserving of a GLOBAL CHAPLAINS DAY which will show recognition to ALL CHAPLAINS. Hence, the creation of GLOBAL CHAPLAINS DAY by Global Chaplains Alliance, Inc.
